ABOUT DESIGNER

Yi-Jhu Huang is a Taiwanese jewellery designer and maker. She trained in Metalsmithing & Jewellery Design at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, and has completed her Masters degree in Jewellery, Silversmithing and related products at Birmingham City University in the UK.

With four years metalsmith and jewellery design training, Yi-jhu has a strong jewellery making and designing technique. She likes to try various textures and materials on her work, and is also interested in the relationship between jewellery, the environment and body movement. Jewellery for Yi-Jhu is like a wearable artwork, which is not only expresses the ideas from her, but also shows the personality of the wearer; it's the most attractive part about jewellery design for her.

Yi-Jhu has always been inspired by stories, fashion, visual art images and natural environment. Material experimentation is also a really important part of her design process.
